What products are included with the Tecplot Academic Suite?
The products included in the Tecplot Academic Suite are Tecplot 360, Tecplot Chorus, Tecplot RS and Tecplot Focus. Learn more about Tecplot Chorus.
Does the Tecplot Academic Suite allow me to download more than one product?
Yes. As a Tecplot Academic Suite license holder, you are eligible to download one or more products covered in the Academic Suite. We recommend Tecplot Chorus, as it includes Tecplot 360 in the installation. If your work includes reservoir engineering, we recommend Tecplot RS.
What happens to the current Tecplot license I am using at my university?
As a current Tecplot customer with a valid Software Maintenance Service (SMS) subscription, you will be automatically upgraded to the Tecplot Academic Suite. You will retain your current license number and the SMS date will not change. This upgrade will be reflected on your account at www.tecplot.com/downloads/software-activation.
I have an older version of Tecplot 360 and my SMS has expired, will I be upgraded to the Academic Suite?
No. To be eligible for the Academic Suite, you will need to be reinstated. Read more about Reinstatement on the Maintenance page.
Can I stay with Tecplot 360 rather than upgrade to the Academic Suite?
All current academic license holders will be upgraded to the Tecplot Academic Suite. You will have access to all Tecplot products, although you may decide to only access Tecplot 360. We suggest that Tecplot 360 users evaluate Tecplot Chorus as it includes Tecplot 360 and provides additional value. Learn more about Tecplot Chorus.
My university has a Tecplot Site License, will I have access to the Academic Suite?
Yes. Universities with an Academic Site License have full access to the Tecplot Academic Suite.
Who can use the Tecplot Site License at my university?
Full-time faculty, staff, and students of the university who are eligible to use the Site License per their university’s Academic Site License Agreement.
How many users can access the Tecplot Site License?
You have unlimited usage for the area defined in the site license contract.
Is home and laptop usage available through the site license?
Yes, your license will be available for use on campus, at home or on a laptop.
