In my conversation with CFD engineers, I have been trying to find the best way to describe our new Tecplot Chorus software. I often start the conversation with our marketing lingo:
“Tecplot Chorus provides a single application to help engineers speed up the discovery and understanding of the results and underlying physics across many simulation cases.”
With the typical reply being “Did you say Tecplot course?”
Never the less, recently a NASA engineer summed up our Chorus conversation nicely:
“Oh, I understand – Tecplot Chorus is like putting the HyperWall on your desktop”
Eureka – that’s it!
NASA’s HyperWall was an inspiration for Tecplot Chorus. During our visits to NASA’s NAS facility we saw how researchers improved their understanding of CFD results by visualizing a range of simulation images across a parametric space on the HyperWall.
It was also clear to us what researchers were doing on the large visualization wall would be something they would love to do on their desktop as well. Thus began the motivation for Tecplot Chorus – a single desktop tool to visualize and understand the myriad of simulations developed for a given project.
