Sometimes, beauty and practicality don’t go hand in hand.
Other times, they’re perfect partners.
Which is why we love this little story: Recently, Frank Muldoon, a Tecplot user who works for New Technologies and Service in Saint Petersburg, Russia, submitted a paper to the American Physical Society. When he heard back, it turned out that not only did the organization accept the paper—they wanted to use one of the Tecplot images from it on their company Christmas card!
Soon after that, the same image was picked up by Physical Review E for their Kaleidoscope feature as a scientific image that is an “attractive and interesting graphic” in its own right.
