BELLEVUE, Wash. – May 30, 2012 – Today, Tecplot, Inc. announced the release the 2012 R2 version of Tecplot® Chorus™, the company’s simulation analytics tool. With this version, engineers will be able to easily manage image views that help them understand trends in their solutions and identify anomalies quickly. They will also be able to extract additional integrated quantities from simulation data to complete their analysis.

Easily manage image views to quickly identify trends, anomalies, and additional integrated quantities from simulation data with Version 2012 R2

“With continued feedback and support from our customers, we are making dramatic improvements to Tecplot Chorus with each new release,” says Tecplot CEO Rich Stillman. “We’re committed to building unique and powerful analytic capabilities into Chorus that our customers value.”

What is Tecplot Chorus? Tecplot Chorus is a software tool that enables engineers to manage CFD projects by bringing together results from simulation cases, derived quantities and plot images in a single environment. Engineers using Tecplot Chorus can evaluate overall system performance and visually compare tens, hundreds or thousands of simulation cases without writing scripts. They can also analyze a single parameter over their entire project both visually and quantitatively. This gives them the ability to make decisions faster and with much greater accuracy. Tecplot Chorus also improves post processing by pre-computing plots and making downstream analysis faster.

The new version of Tecplot Chorus allows engineers to:

Quickly manage image views.
Engineers who run trade studies using high fidelity simulation can create tens or hundreds of views for each case in their project. They do this in order to make better decisions based on the assets contained in that project. The ability to quickly manage image views helps them understand trends in their solutions and identify anomalies more quickly.

Extract additional integrated quantities from simulation data.
Many engineers need to extract additional integrated quantities from their simulation data in order to complete their analysis. This extraction includes pulling auxiliary data from solution files as well as creating new data from existing solutions using Tecplot macros.
