Welcome to Workshop Wednesday, a regular feature of the Tecplot blog. Here, we show you how engineers use our visualization software to create inspiringly accurate—and sometimes even world-changing—design simulations.

In this SO2 plume migration study, engineers were able to visualize multiple views of metadata and flow field physics in one unified environment with Tecplot Chorus.

Amazing how many different industries use CFD and CFD visualization software to make a bit of a difference in the world.

Consider, for example, building design. The flow of air and gas through a building can have serious consequences, after all. Worker safety is one.

Environmental safety is another.

And so, when manufacturing plant engineers needed to ensure that their design stayed within the EPA threshold for SO2 (sulfur dioxide) concentration recently, they turned to Tecplot Chorus for help.

SO2 gas emissions are common by-products in many industrial processes. They’re also a serious pollutant. Fortunately, the engineers on this project were able to test their design successfully and accurately, confirming that it would in fact fall within the EPA standards for this emission.

And thanks to Chorus, doing it only took about 15 minutes.
