Tecplot Announces General Availability of Tecplot Chorus 2016 Release 2

Surrogate model improvements and CSV import/export highlight new release.

BELLEVUE, Wash. (August 3, 2016) – Tecplot, Inc., developer of the leading CFD visualization and analysis software for engineers and scientists, today announced the general availability of Tecplot Chorus 2016 Release 2, a design-space visualization & analysis product that incorporates the most recent version of Tecplot 360.

Faster Surrogate Model Algorithms

Surrogate models are used when outcomes of interest cannot be easily measured directly. Accelerating information discovery is critical for engineers analyzing problems with complex design spaces. In the new release of Tecplot Chorus, surrogate model algorithms are up to two times faster than they were in the previous version. In addition, improvements to setting up and viewing surrogate models make them much easier to explore.

More Forgiving CSV File Loaders

Comma-Separated Values (CSV) file loaders are more forgiving and now allow a wider variety of CSV file input. This reduces the amount of formatting work users must do to make CSV files load properly into Tecplot Chorus.

Exporting to a CSV file is easier and more robust. All project data, linked data as well as image files, can be included in the exported CSV file. Users will benefit by the ease in which they can repair or bulk edit their project if, for example, the file paths become damaged, or if data from Tecplot Chorus needs to be passed to another process.

The inclusion of Tecplot 360, surrogate model improvements, and CSV file I/O enhancements combine to make Tecplot Chorus 2016 Release 2 the most user-friendly and effective design-space simulation data analysis tool on the market today,” said Tecplot Product Manager Scott Fowler.
