Problem: I tried to open a data file and got this error message. What does it mean?
Solution: This error message occurs when an attempt is made to load a data file (.dat or .plt) but the file chosen is not a datafile but a layout (.lay) or layout package file (.lpk) instead. When using this feature in Tecplot please be sure to choose a file with the .dat or .plt extension.
