Problem: If users improperly close a Tecplot product, the RLM license can remain checked out. As a system administrator, how can I configure RLM to take back these orphaned licenses automatically?

Solution: This problem can be mitigated by setting the following timeout command in Reprise License Manager (RLM):
TIMEOUTALL 3600

This command will configure RLM to reclaim licenses checked out to any application from which it hasn’t received a heartbeat in 3600 seconds (1 hour). You can increase this duration, but a 1-hour timeout is the shortest duration possible without a custom key. If you require a shorter duration, please contact Tecplot technical support.

To add this setting through the browser-based administration tool, open your browser and go to http://localhost:5054/, where localhost represents the license server hostname, and 5054 represents the web server port number. Click on the Status button and then the teclmd button under the OPTIONS heading. Add the command and save the changes. Click Reread/Restart Servers and then click REREAD/RESTART to put the timeout option into effect.
