Problem:
My colleague and I share a laptop, and sometimes one of us borrows a license of Tecplot from our license server. When I recently tried to borrow a license from the license maager I received a message that my attempt failed.
How can I fix this?
Solution:
This can happen when a two people share a computer. User #1 borrows a license which causes a license file to be created and stored on the computer he is using. Then he turns the machine over to user #2. When user #2 tries to borrow license another license file of the same name is created so Tecplot tries to overwrite the first license file. But it fails because user #2 does not have permission to overwrite the file.
The best way to avoid this is with communication between the two users, so that they do not try to borrow a license at the same time.
