Question: Is there a way to run the Tecplot 360_2011 which is packaged with Chorus 2012, independently of Chorus?

Answer: Yes.   You can run Tecplot 360_2011 by itself.   All it needs is a license key, and it can use the key you are already using with Chorus 2012, so if you just copy the tecplotlm.lic file from the Chorus 2012 folder/directory into the “tecplot360″ folder/directory, Tecplot 360_2011 will run.

If you run Chorus first after installation, and provide it with a key, then the key file will get copied over to the Tecplot360 folder, so that Chorus can activate Tecplot 360_2011 when needed (ex: during a deep dive).

It is when you try to run  360_2011 (packaged with Chorus 2012) first after installation that you will need to copy the key file.   This is because Tecplot 360_2011 does not know about Chorus and so does not know where to look for the key file.
