Problem:
I tried to install Tecplot 360 or Focus 2012 on my MAC which runs OS X 10.6.8 and it crashed with this error message:
dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/X11/lib/libpng12.0.dylib Referenced from: /applications/tecplot360/bin/../lib/libtec.dylib Reason: Incompatible library version: libtec.dylib requires version 47.0.0 or later, but libpng12.0.dylib provides version 45.0.0 /applications/tecplot360/bin/tec360: line 618: 19287
How can I fix this?
Solution:
A MAC security update was released earlier this year which broke earlier versions of Tecplot 360 and Focus. We fixed that with Tecplot 360 and Focus 2012, which are designed to run on MAC systems where the security update has been run.
The error message above means that Tecplot 360 or Focus 2012 was installed without first running the MAC security update. To fix this one has only to run the MAC security update.
Note: This is the reverse of another KB item we wrote describing what happens when you run the MAC security update while an older version of Tecplot 360 or Focus (2011 R1 or original 2011 R2) is installed.
