Submarine Landslide. This plot shows the topography for a study of tsunami generated by a submarine landslide in Kaikoura Canyon. The pre-slide topography from side scan sonar is overlaid translucent over the post-landslide topography that was determined from sub-bottom seismic profiling. The distance between contour lines indicates the landslide volume which then can be calculated rather quickly.
