Finite element simulation of flow in twin screw extruder mixing elements. The animation displays the motion of flow tracers in the kneading discs of a co-rotating twin screw extruder. This is part of Víctor Bravo's PhD thesis involving the 3-D flow of polymer melts in this type of equipment.
