Tecplot License Types

Whether you’re a single user or you’re supporting an international team of engineers, the Tecplot licensing program is designed to give you cost-effective, flexible options. We offer three commercial license types to fit any size and kind of organization.

Single User License

This license allows one (1) designated individual, and only that individual, the right to install the software on:

  • one (1) home computer
  • one (1) portable computer
  • one (1) work computer

Remote access is not allowed.

What should I do when my 3 license key limit is reached? (single User License only)

If you have reached your 3-key limit, you will need to de-activate and then completely uninstall Tecplot from at least one of your existing license key machines. To de-activate, please email Tecplot Support and attach your myhostids.txt file or your tecplotlm.lic file (or both) from the main Tecplot folder of the machine you wish to de-activate. Single Facility Network License

This license allows a single facility to install and use the software on any compatible computer on the licensee’s internal LAN by the licensed number of concurrent users.

A LAN (Local Area Network) is an internal computer network confined to a building or group of buildings within a five-kilometer radius.

Multi-Facility Network License

This license allows a multi-facility network to install and use the software on any compatible computer on the licensee’s internal WAN by the licensed number of concurrent users.

A WAN (Wide Area Network) is an internal computer network or group of LANs that can span geographic boundaries.
