Stanford-educated engineer to focus on relationship building and revenue growth
BELLEVUE, Wash. (February 4, 2016) – Tecplot, Inc., developer of the leading CFD visualization and analysis software for engineers and scientists, today announced that it has hired Alan Klug as its strategic account manager, a new position at the company.
Improving Workflows and Speeding Processes
In this role, Klug will work with some of Tecplot’s largest and most loyal customers, primarily from the aerospace and defense industry, to see how the company can better serve them. In addition, he’ll look for new groups within those customer-organizations that might benefit from Tecplot software to improve their workflow and speed their processes.
“We’re successful as a company when our clients are successfully leveraging our software to improve their work-product, and I want to make sure they get the attention they deserve,” Klug explained. “I’ll work closely with our internal technical and product management teams to make sure the voice-of-the-customer is heard.”
Prior to joining Tecplot, Klug worked in business development and project management at Stratos Product Development Corp. Before that, he was a program manager at Stark Aerospace Corp. and an aeronautical engineer at Analytical Methods Inc.
A Washington State native, Klug attended Stanford University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a Master of Science in Aeronautics and Astronautics.
Real-world Experience as an Aeronautical Engineer
At Tecplot, Klug will report to Tom Chan, the company’s vice president of customer development. “We are thrilled to have recruited and hired an individual whose credentials are as impressive as Alan’s,” Chan said. “His strong educational background coupled with real-world experience as an aeronautical engineer will serve Alan well in his new role, which I would describe as 60 percent technology consultant and 40 percent sales.”
