External Flow – Exploring a CFD Solution

Description

This video explores a CFD solution using Tecplot 360. You will see how to create slices, seed streamtraces, generate iso-surfaces and use the probe tool. This tutorial starts where we left off in the previous video showing the coefficient of pressure on the surface of the wing.

This second video in our External Flow Getting Started series, Exploring a CFD Solution, uses the ONERA M6 wing data set. You can find the link to the data in the description below. The ONERA M6 wing was tested by NASA in a wind tunnel at four different Mach numbers and various angles of attack. This is now a classic CFD validation case for external flows because it has a simple geometry, complex flows, and experimental data to validate against.
