Tom Chan, President
During his 20 years at Tecplot, Tom has held key leadership positions in everything from sales and marketing to product management and business development. He enjoys building long-term partnerships with our customers in an effort to solve some of their most vexing workplace problems. This wealth of experience, combined with his MBA from Seattle University’s Albers School and his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Washington, form a solid foundation of technical skills, professional judgement and emotional intelligence that Tom will use to lead Tecplot into the future. Aside from work, Tom is incredibly involved with his family, particularly in coaching youth sports.
Dan DeLapp, Vice President, Software Development
“Working with engineers and doing whatever I can to support them as they grow technologically and professionally” is Dan’s favorite part of his position as VP of Software Development at Tecplot. A close second is working with “incredibly talented and supportive people at a smaller company where everyone is important and instrumental to our success”. With a BS in Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, and Mathematics from the University of Puget Sound and 30 years in software development and 14 years managing software development teams, Dan is invaluable to our Software division. Between catching local sports games (go Hawks!) Dan loves boating, SCUBA diving, and spending time with his family.
Alan Klug, Vice President, Customer Development
Prior to entering business development, Alan worked for nearly a decade as a consulting CFD engineer analyzing commercial, business, military and special missions aircraft. He has been passionate about airplanes and engineering his whole life, and holds BS and MS degrees in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Stanford University. As VP of Customer Development (and former Tecplot power user), Alan enjoys working with clients and code developers to understand their needs, maximize their data visualization capabilities and speed their post-processing routines with Tecplot software.
Dr. Scott Imlay, Chief Technical Officer
As CTO (and CFD guru), Scott manages Tecplot’s Research team, in addition to publishing articles, writing white papers, and giving technical presentations. In his 28+ years with Tecplot, Scott has developed CFD codes under contract from NASA, DARPA, NSF and other federal agencies and managed the development of Tecplot’s flagship visualization software. He holds BS, MS, and PhD degrees in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from the University of Washington. The challenge of working – and researching – for a highly technical and mathematical organization is what Scott loves about Tecplot.
Scott Fowler, Product Manager
As Tecplot’s Product Manager, Scott sees things from a customers’ perspective and is a natural problem solver. It’s his job to understand where the CFD and aerospace markets are going, gather customer feedback, and make sure Tecplot develops products to meet those needs. Scott naturally stepped into the Product Management role after his tenure as the lead product architect for both of the products he now manages. His 16 years at Tecplot coupled with his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington give Scott the technical savvy to help Tecplot thrive in the coming years.
Raja Olimuthu, Oil & Gas Business Development and Tecplot RS Product Manager
Raja has enjoyed working in customer facing roles at Tecplot for the last 7 years. His past engineering experience has helped him engage with our end users, and allows him to convey the value of our products effectively. He has helped build trust and key relationships with some of our biggest customers. He has a BS in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. During his time off, Raja plays bass guitar in local bands and at his church. He also enjoys going on family trips, and playing basketball in his spare time.
